precisely Ivor- i'm not saying don't watch it (the film will become a cult item in any case, despite of any protesting reviews) i'm saying "it's awful, don't pay MONEY to see it"

Hi Psyche, Beth et Al!

I personally don’t want my review to empty the theatres. I wrote my review in the spirit of “Hey, you’ve seen the film! What did you think of it?”. No hatchet job intended but no retractions. Doctor Dave may well feel the same but I cannot speak on his behalf.

Don’t reckon reviews are supposed to be in the business of killing or making a film but as the seeds of constructive discussion, so PLEEEEEEEEZE see it if you’re at all inclined, put any reviews and opinions you’ve read into a secret place and just watch the movie.

That said, if your money is at all tight at the moment then stay at home and try to borrow the DVD off a friend when it comes out. Thelemic therapy sessions for all those affected by this film will be available soon online as a live video feed at http://www.pokebrucedickinsonintheeyewithapointything.com ;-)

Really? Hearing how awful it is makes me want to see it more. From an historical bio-pic perspective it sounds painful, but I am a sucker for terrible B-movies. (I actually sought out and bought Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter - an Ottawa-based musical about the second-coming of Jesus Christ, kung fu, lesbians and vampires. It was worse than it sounds.) Though...I may wait for the DVD ;)

I can’t believe anyone could write a “gushing admiration” of that movie!

Damn, you slept on it before writing your review. My blood was boiling so much I stayed up the same night to write mine (published on Mandrake Speaks). With the gushing admiration of the film from 'another' forum I can only conclude that there must be two versions of this film in distro. It appears unfortunately that you've seen the same version of the film as I did and have suffered the same spontaneous failure in your sense of humour.
