Erisian Haiku Contest and status update
By Psyche | May 22, 2008
The Plutonica.net Erisian Haiku Contest closes tomorrow, so get your entries in tomorrow. Voting will begin Saturday morning and votes will be counted by poet, so if you’ve already submitted one entry, feel free to submit more, as long as they’re in by end of day tomorrow they will be included. Click here for full contest details.
I should give you an update on Plutonca.net’s posting rate as well. Regular readers may have noticed that we’ve dropped a bit recently from our usual daily posts to every few days – this is not permanent, we will be back to our regular daily posts in the next week.
I’ve been having trouble with my eyes lately, and recently had a new prescription filled for my glasses which was giving me a lot of trouble (headaches, double vision – it was quite painful). The prescription was filled incorrectly by Hakim Optical (they were close to where I work, so I took a chance, never again) and they failed to take steps to correct it immediately despite looking into the problem at my request1. After conferring with my doctor, they will be refilling the prescription, but as it’s quite high2 it may take a few more days.
Due to this trouble, it’s been difficult for me to focus on the screen, which is of course where I do the majority of my writing for the blog. Once I have the correct prescription we will resume our regular posting schedule – I’ve got lots of good stuff backed up, so please bear with me for a few more days.
In the meantime, the spotlight’s on you guys with the Erisian Haiku Contest and I love what we’ve been receiving so far!

Wishing you a speedy fix and lessened pain until then.
Thanks. I went back to Hakim and had them recut, but I think they did it wrong…again…
I’ll confirm with my eyedoctor, and if so, go back and request a refund. I can’t believe their incompentence.
