Plutonica.net was started six months ago on October 31st, 2007, the first post being “[cref 15]“, followed by “[cref 16]” and “[cref 17]“. I’d like to take time to mention a few posts from each month, perhaps highlight some you’ve not read before.
In November, among other things, we looked at 100 years of fringe religion, chaos magick, secrecy and experimented with a series of posts on themed collections of books called Shelf Life – something we may revisit in the coming months.
December we looked at being “beyond the books“, Nietzsche on art, book reviews and a number of news items (such as being among the first to report the sad news that Thelema Coast to Coast had released its final podcast on the 31st.)
With the turning of the year bringing questions of what’s to come, January opened with a look at sharing bad news in tarot readings, as well as the myth of “bad cards”. January saw several new book reviews, news items and an interview with ChaosMatrix.org’s Fenwick Kaidevis Rysen on Fotamecus.
February saw more reviews of recently released titles, another look at evolution, Otherkin and, in keeping with the St Valentine’s theme, love in ancient Egypt.
In March we saw an eclectic mix of posts, including a concert review, a write up about the Feasts I hold, what it meas to be “too popular”, Baudelaire, steampunk - mixed in with the usual reviews and news items. We also played around a bit with top five lists which received a good response, and will be revisited – submit ideas or questions if you’d like recommendations on a topic.
April we considered art versus the artist, took a look at the etymology of Tarot, reviews and, of course, our first guest blogger: Kara Rae Garland and her two part essay Love is the Law. We also delved deeper into definitions of magick, what we mean, also looking at reader feedback and magick, myth and change.
Indeed, April has been a banner month for reader participation – the questions and comments received have been fantastic, keep ‘em coming!
Further to that, what series or posts have you enjoyed in the past? What would you like to see more of? Are there series or topics you’d like to see less of?
It would be fascinating to see more about gypsies and views about their abilities and perspectives.
