Fulgur Limited, noted publisher of things related to and written by Austin Osman Spare1, has just released a previously unpublished work by the artist and magician, The Valley of Fear, with an introduction by Robert Ansell

As one of these major ‘lost’ works The Valley of Fear is an unpublished sketchbook of 20 vigourous yet haunting studies… Designed as a companion volume to The Book of Ugly Ecstasy (Fulgur, 1996) here the delicately tinted original drawings have been reproduced in full colour. The work has been augmented by an introductory essay by Robert Ansell in which the metaphysical themes are explored and Spare’s methodologies for creating states of magical aesthesis for his audience are examined and discussed.

Fulgur Limited, from the promo material for The Valley of Fear

Steep at £135.00 for the deluxe edition or £40.00 for the regular version, it’s sure to become an instant collector’s item, as with all things Sparian.
