Pardon me for thinking that, unlike ivy, I die when I become attached.

Celebrate the Winter Solstice in Toronto!

The 19th annual Kensington Festival of Lights takes place today at 6 pm sharp at the corners of Augustus and Oxford in Kensington Market.  There will be puppeteers, fire-breathers, stilt-walkers, and a crazy parade of costumed characters marching through the narrow streets of the Kensington neighbourhood, their lit lanterns held high as their spirits. Tag line: Unite to ignite the longest, darkest night.

My husband and I usually go every year, unfortunately, this year, we have another engagement, but this really is a “fun for the whole family” kind of event.

On Saturday the 22nd there’s Celebrate the Solstice at Trinity Square Park from 12-2 pm near the Eaton’s Centre with the Labyrinth Network.

Have fun!
